The Youth Center in Nyköping is a well-established operation run jointly by Nyköping Municipality and Region Sörmland.

The unit is organizationally located within the education division and is linked to the central student health services. The social workers at Nyköping's youth center report to the head of student health services.

Midwives and other medical staff are employed by Region Sörmland and have their own manager. Nyköping's youth center is located on the hospital grounds in the region's facilities.

NUM consists of 4 social workers and 3-4 midwives who work during the day. Weekend work may occur during special activities. We are now looking for 1 social worker to join our organization as one of our colleagues is moving on to another job.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Our target group is young people aged 13-23 years. The youth center works with issues related to sexuality, relationships, and psychosocial health. The social workers have a varied and independent role, such as meeting young people in both individual conversations and groups, conducting psychosocial treatment work, receiving study visits from high school students, and collaborating with other organizations. Since 2015, the center has been HBTQI-certified. You will be involved in the development of the operations with other staff and will be offered continuous supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a degree in social work or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience working with young people, and an interest in promoting and preventive work both in groups and on an individual level.

It is an advantage to have basic training in psychotherapy and education in sexology.

To succeed in this role, we believe you are solution-focused and stable, able to handle various situations that arise in a professional manner. We expect you to be a secure person with personal integrity but also someone who easily connects with young people.

We consider it an advantage if you have previous experience in the profession.
